The Durban Country Club Beachwood Golf Course
The Beachwood Golf Course was remodelled in 1994 by the Gary Player group and is now regarded as championship standard. The course has long, narrow tree-lined fairways that are mostly straight, and barring the par 3 second, all run parallel to each other. As such, precision tee shots and lay-ups are required in order to score well. Beachwood Golf Course lies at the southern end of Virginia Airport, which is mainly for small commercial aircraft, private flights, training flights and helicopters. To see these small aircraft take-off and land directly overhead as you play adds an exciting dimension to your game.
