Royal Norwich Golf Club
The Royal Norwich golf course is a fantastic mature parkland course with a fascinating history. Despite being founded in 1893, the course is relatively long at 6,506 yards from the medal tees and is certainly no push-over. The 1st, a hole with a well-guarded green, provides a testing tee shot as the first stroke of the round and sets the tone for the rest of the game. The 8th is the only original hole on the course, and one of the best. Down an attractive valley with gorse and wood on the left, the 8th’s special feature is a layer green between two banks, with trees either side, a setting which inspired its name, ‘The Glade’. The Royal Norwich is a fantastic course that will challenge beginners and experts alike.
