Houghton Golf Club
The Houghton Golf Club is located in the wealthy Johannesburg suburb of Houghton. The course has hosted the South African Open eight times and in 1993 was completely revamped and redesigned by Matkovich and Hayes. The Houghton Golf Course lies in softly undulating parklands and has beautiful tree-lined fairways planted with kikuya grass. Dotted with ponds and dams, an abundance of flowering shrubs provide great variety and colour. Lost City Golf Course

There are two golf courses at the Royal Johannesburg & Kensington golf club - the East course and the West course. The East course has played host to many tournaments, including the South African Open seven times. The course is longer and, many would say, tougher than the neighbouring West course. This parkland style course has relatively tight fairways and excellent quality bunkering as well as plenty of water hazards to keep you on your toes. Royal Johannesburg & Kensington West
Of the two courses at Royal Johannesburg & Kensington, The West course was the first to be established. Although perhaps not quite as prestigious as its neighbouring course, the west course has a great layout with water hazards more evenly and frequently distributed throughout the course than they are on the East course. The course is gently undulating with beautiful tree-lined fairways and a very peaceful setting. Look out for the par 3 16th - a fabulous downhiller played to a fiercely water-protected green.
