Vila Sol is one of the best-kept courses in the Algarve.
A great layout, with pristine greens which run true, and tight, testing holes requiring accurate shot making, Vila Sol golf course is a challenging but very rewarding and enjoyable test for every level of golfer.
The original 9 holes were designed by Donald Steel, who took advantage of the undulating countryside, as well as the abundance of umbrella pines and cork trees, which border the well-maintained fairways.
Vila Sol opened in 1991 and hosted the Portuguese Open in 1992 and 1993. Steel added a further 9 holes in 2000, and the resort now operates as three 9-hole loops
