The Isle of Man is home to some of the finest golf courses in the British Isles and whilst the Isle of Man is only 32 miles long and 14 miles wide they have managed to produce 8 unique and challenging must-play golf courses all within a very short transfer from wherever you stay.

Castletown Golf Links, the most well-known and challenging of the islands courses and features in the Rolex World rankings. However there are 7 other courses covering the beautiful Isle of Man landscape, Port Erin in the Southwest corner, you will find Rowany Golf Club built in 1895, very traditional and a challenge for any level of golfer. Ramsey Golf Club, set in front of a stunning background of the northern hills, is a challenging 18-hole course designed by five-time Open Championship winner, James Braid. Peel Golf Club, another cracking course, laid out on heathland and extremely varied, with many holes cut through pine tree forests offering a range of natural challenges from streams, turf banks and gorse. Mount Murray Golf & Country Club, meanders through the stunning Isle of Man countryside and is well known for the excellent condition of their fairways and greens. Douglas Golf Club is one of the few courses designed by Dr Alexander MacKenzie, architect of some of the worlds most challenging courses including Augusta National. King Edward Bay Golf Club boasts some of the best views on the Isle of Man due to its elevated position above Onchan, with breath-taking views across Douglas Bay. Port St Mary Golf Club, designed by 1920 Open Champion, George Duncan, offers stunning sea views and is the only nine-hole course on the island, perhaps 9 holes in the afternoon before enjoying the Isle of Man, Manx hospitality.

Golf has been played at Castletown since 1892 when Old Tom Morris designed the course. The course in its present form was laid out by golfing legend Mackenzie Ross in the late 20s and early 30s and provides some of the purest links golf anywhere in the British Isles.

Laid out on heathland the Peel golf course lies just to the east of Peel. The course is extremely varied, with many holes having been cut through pine tree plantations. It offers a complete range of natural hazards from streams, turf banks and gorse.

Port St Mary Golf Club

Formed in 1903 as a private company, the golf club has occupied its present location since 1936. The nine-hole course was designed by 1920 British Open Champion George Duncan. It is the only nine-hole course on the Island.

Set in front of a stunning background of the northern hills of the Isle of Man, Ramsey Golf Club was founded in 1891. It was laid out by Old Tom Morris, modified by George Lowe, and then in 1926, it was redesigned by James Braide, five times Open Champion.

Rowany Golf Club

Established in 1895, Rowany Golf Club is situated in Port Erin, on the South-Western corner of the Isle of Man. The 18-hole course is a 5774 yards long par 70 from the white tees and provides a challenging test to all golfers.
