Sable-Solesmes is a former host to the European Challenge Tour. It is located in the peaceful countryside off the beaten track, making it one of the best-kept secrets in France.
The golf courses have been cleverly designed. Taking his inspiration from the natural surroundings provided by the beautiful Sarthe Valley, Michel Gayon created three nine-hole loops along with another nine-hole academy course. Each course is unique and individual, yet complement the other perfectly.
There are plenty of hazards to negotiate and lots of water throughout. The nine-hole loops are split into parkland, links and valley designs, so give a good contract of holes if you stay for the day and play all three.
There is also a great hotel nearby, the Grand Hotel des Solesmes, so you have the option to stay nearby or stay in the heart of the Loire and drive out to enjoy all that Sable-Solesmes has to offer.
